What if I don’t want to leave my dog? Do you offer private
or group classes?

Yes, we do offer private and group classes! We know that different dogs and dog owners have varying needs.
However, we have found the results of our board & train programs to be excellent. While it is relatively easy to become a good dog handler, it is a much more complex and lengthy task to become a good dog trainer. In fact, all of our trainers are certified master trainers and attended dog training school full-time (40 hours per week or more) for a minimum of six months to learn how to train dogs. That’s 960 hours of dog training. Not to mention the thousands of hours of experience they have gained since. While all of our trainers are highly skilled teachers, it is simply impossible to condense 960 hours of schooling into a handful of hour-long, private lessons and expect the same results.

When you hire a mechanic to fix your car, you don’t pay the mechanic to teach you how to fix your vehicle. You pay the mechanic to fix the problem because that’s what his (or her) job is, and he (or she) can do a better job in a shorter period of time. Dog training is no different. Having a dog trainer train your dog will yield the best results because a dog trainer is the most qualified person for the job. We pride ourselves in quality over quantity, and our goal is to provide you with the best possible service and results as an owner.

Will my dog forget me?
No way! We’ve never had a dog forget their owner. Your dog will be beyond thrilled to see you on pick-up day!
Do you allow visits?
We do not currently allow visitation. It can be stressful for the dogs to see their owners and then have to watch them leave again. We feel this is a bit unfair to the dogs, and we want to ensure that their stay with us is as happy and relaxed as possible. We do, however, send updates 3x per week. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, you will receive pictures and/or videos of your dog in training so you can see what they are up to! Wednesdays are our “weight day,” so we will weigh your dog and let you know what they weigh each Wednesday. If they lose or gain weight and don’t need to be, we will adjust their food accordingly (with your permission).
Can you give my dog medication?
Sure thing! Please indicate what medication your pet is on (as well as the dates the medication is due) on your dog’s intake forms that we send via email before drop-off day.
Can I send toys, blankets, etc., with my dog?
Absolutely! Please only send items you aren’t worried about your dog shredding, ingesting, etc.
Where will my dog be staying?
Your dog will stay at Sequoyah Waggin’ Tails Lodge, located at our facility. Your dog will have access to water 24/7 and will remain indoors in their room, except for monitored potty breaks and training sessions. The kennels are climate-controlled to ensure your dog’s comfort.
Will my dog listen to me if I’m not the one doing the training?
Yes. With our unique, balanced training approach, anyone can use and apply the training with a bit of practice and consistency. We’ll show you how to apply your dog’s training on pick-up day. After practicing for a week or two, you’ll feel like you trained your dog yourself!
Does the payment plan have to be completed before my dog can begin training?
No, we only require the first payment in order for training to begin.
Do you offer a discount for multiple dogs?
Yes, we offer a 10% multiple-dog discount!
