One-on-One Classes are an excellent way for owners who want to learn how to train their own dog to acquire the ability to "do it themselves".  Owners will work hand in hand with our trainers and customize the one-one-one sessions to fit their individual dog.  This training style is good for any age dog - from puppies to adults.

Initial Evaluation/ 1st session:

Once we meet your puppy/dog we will be better able to make recommendations as to what type of training equipment you will need.  For our Out of Town Clients, we recommend bringing EVERYTHING you currently train with.  For our Local Clients, we can make recommendations to you based on how your dog does after his first session.  We may recommend treats, balls, tugs, squeak toys, harness, flat collar, "place" mats, or a variety of other training motivators.  If you would prefer, we can provide these things for you.

What You'll Need:

  •  During your weekly sessions you will learn how to begin the process that is critical to the positive social development of your puppy.  While attending our program your puppy will come in contact with variety of people of various ages, sizes, etc.  We encourage and monitor handling exercises where your pet is exposed to new people in a gentle, positive manner.  Proper socialization during this short window of opportunity will guide your puppy's development while he gains a clear understanding of appropriate behavior.

Follow Up Sessions:

After your first session, our trainer will help you determine how often your would like to schedule follow-ups.  Some people (especially those that live out of town) choose to work on their "take-home assignments" the return in 3-4 weeks.  Our local clients often want smaller "take-home assignments" and choose to return more often - usually once weekly.  Much of this will be determined by the clients individual schedule as well as their individual abilities and knowledge.

What you will need to bring:

  • Your puppy/dog
  • Flat collar
  • 6-foot lead
  • His/her favorite training treats
  • Optional but may be recommended by our trainer
    • Place Mat
    • Training Collar
    • Ball or Tug
